COACHING
I'm now offering coaching sessions for high school seniors, college students, and/or any adult who is looking to work on acting material. BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and students with mental illness are highly encouraged to reach out.
My Teaching Philosophy & Process
My goal as your coach is to teach you how to harness your own creativity and artistic ability. So often coaches and teachers only direct students, rather than teach them how to make and explore their own choices. Additionally, every student is a completely different human being! There is no one-size-fits-all process for acting, so my teaching process will be tailored to you and how you like to work. If you don't know what that is yet, then we'll figure it out together.
Working with new people is always nerve-wracking, so in our initial session, we'll get to know each other a bit! None of this "hello, the clock is ticking, let's get to work" baloney. You will do better work the more comfortable you are and I will do better work the more I get to know you and your needs as a performer. I will always check in with you at the beginning of a session to see how you're doing and offer you support if you need it. I have a very close relationship with anxiety, and I understand how much it can get in the way of an actor's work. It's my goal to ensure that you always feel safe, heard, and satisfied with your session.
Please let me know if you have any questions or any specific skills you want to work on!
What Should I Bring In?
Bring in any acting material. This can include film/TV or theatrical scenes, monologues, voiceover copy, commercial scripts, songs that require vocal performance work, etc. Anything that provides an opportunity to dig into the storytelling.
